There are several paintings by artist Jean-Marie Toulgouat, step-great grandson of Impressionist artist Claude Monet. Toulgouat grew up in the Monet household and in later years of his life was responsible for the restoration of the gardens and house, which had largely been abandoned during the German Occupation. Most of his paintings consisted of gardens and flowers. He gave up landscape architecture when he was 39 years old and began painting full time with a style all of his own, but reflective of Monet's later works.
